Common Views
To ring in the new year— and anticipating the anniversary of Thomas Paine’s birthday later this month—we’re re-upping Osei Helper’s performance of his original song “Whole Lotta Paine,” performed at the ITPS September 2020 conference “Foundations of Independence.” Enjoy Osei’s performance and interview!
Common Words
ITPS Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Lindsay Chervinsky’s monthly column in Governing is a must-read for those interested in how the politics of the Early Republic continue to influence— or not influence—modern America. Dr. Chervinsky’s most recent piece explores the historical context and significance of the events of 1/6, contrasting those events with the War of 1812, the Civil War, and Nixon’s presidency. Read the article here!
